Waiting Isn’t Wasted—Even When It Feels Like It

Word of God for Today: Psalm 27:14

Verse of the Day

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
Psalm 27:14 (KJV)

God strengthens hearts that choose to wait instead of rush.

Reading of the Day: Psalm 27:11–14 (KJV)

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path,
because of mine enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies:
for false witnesses are risen up against me.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on the Lord.

Short Explanation

Waiting often feels like punishment, especially when answers are delayed. We pray, hope, and expect movement—but instead, silence meets us. This passage reminds us that waiting is not empty time; it is strengthening time. God uses seasons of delay to build courage we cannot develop in comfort. When life feels stuck, faith is quietly being shaped beneath the surface. David admits he would have fainted without believing in God’s goodness ahead of time. Waiting trains our hearts to trust what we cannot yet see. It teaches us endurance when results are not immediate. God’s timing may stretch us, but it never wastes us.

Morning Prayer

Lord,
Waiting is hard, and my heart feels tired.
Give me courage when answers feel delayed.
Strengthen my faith while I wait on You.
Help me trust Your timing over my impatience.
I believe You are still working.
Amen.

Have a Blessed day ahead.
